  Weekly Announcements
   Students, if you have been assigned to after school detention, please report to Mrs. Grigsby's room (B-11) immediately after school on your assigned day.

   Anyone interested in trying out for the one act play, please sign up on the bulletin board by the auditorium, or see Ms. Duff in room B-5.

     Seniors: The Sawnee EMC Foundation Scholarships are ready.  Please pick one up in the counselor's office, or visit Sawnee EMC.

    DCHS is now selling a 'Gold Card' for only $25. A Gold Card will allow you into all regular season home athletic events for the entire year. Buy your gold card at any home game. 

Daily Announcements: 

  Tuesday, September 7th.  

    All boys and girls planning on trying out for soccer this year, there will be an important meeting tomorrow morning in the auditorium at 7:15. Please be on time. If you have any questions, please see Coach Lacy in room A-1. 
   
   Dawson Student Films will meet Wednesday at 3:00 in C-1

 

Clubs 

Here at DCHS, clubs meet every Friday on a cluster rotation.  The clubs and clusters are listed below. 

 Cluster 1:Y-Club, JGG, Fiction Writers I, CTI, Film Club

Cluster 2:FBLA, FCCLA, Skills USA, Interact Club, 4-H, Fiction Writers II

Cluster 3: FFA, Key Club, NHS, HOSA, Tri-M, Prom Committee

Cluster 4:Juniorettes, Spanish NHS, Beta Club, DECA, Leo Club, SGA

 
 
Getting your driver's license?
 
You will need a certificate of attendance when you apply for your Learners or Drivers permits.  You will also need an ADAPT card when you apply for your driver's license. These certificates may be obtained from Connie Jennings, school registrar. Please give Ms. Jennings at least 2 days notices when requesting these documents.  They are valid for 30 days (excluding those issued in May which are valid through Sept. 1). You may download a request form at the bottom of this page.

   October 12th - Pre-bubbling for Workforce Readiness (during focus)
   October 13th - Workforce Readiness Test
   October 14th - Cap & Gown & Announcements Meeting
   October 21st - Money due for announcements
   October 29th - Senior Resume and Senior Profiles due
   November 10th - NGCSU on-site admission
   May 5th, 6:00 p.m. - Senior Honors Night
   May 26th, 7:00 p.m. Baccalaureate  (Seniors arrive at 6:30)
 
 
*Students now have to take the ACT or SAT to attend a 2 year college, such as Gainesville, is Fall 2011.
*Early application deadline to NGCSU is November 15gh.

  Yearbooks 

2010 Yearbooks were distributed on Friday, May 14.  There are a few extras on sale for $70.  See Mrs. Hamby in room E-10 to purchase a yearbook. 

2011 Yearbooks are on sale now.  An order form will be distributed to each student on the first day of school.  A copy can be downloaded below.  Prices are as follows:

Registration Information

 


The following items MUST be presented when registering a  new student for DCHS:
*Birth Certificate
*Social Security Card (not just the number!)
*GA immunization form #3231
*Proof of residency (light bill, water bill, cable bill, lease or tax notice)Telephone and/or cell phone bills will NOT be accepted.
*Withdrawal form from previous school attended
*Legal custody documentation (if applicable)

Georgia Work Readiness Test

Class of 2009 graduates who participated in the Work ReadinessTesting, you may obtain your certificate by logging onto www.gaworkready.org
