DAWSON COUNTY HIGHTOWER ACADEMY
AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM
Hightower Academy offers an after school (Fifth Period) program for all Dawson County high school aged students. This program is designed to allow students who have not been successful in a course at the high school to retake the course for credit by demonstrating mastery of the course content.
Students taking After-School classes may attempt as many as two repeat courses or one new class in any one semester.
Courses are provided through independent study mastery-learning format. Most courses are textbook based with computer assisted instruction as a supplement to the text.
Students who are interested in taking an after-school class should contact the counselor at their school to complete a course recommendation form. Students who are recommended by their base school may attend class from
2:45 until 4:00, Monday through Thursday for Credit Recovery. Classes begin the first Monday of each Semester.
There is a fee for each after-school course attempted. Please contact the school to find out the current fee
