Dawsonville, GA – All schools in the Dawson County School System recognized with the Ready Georgia Seal of Preparedness.
Awarded by the Georgia Department of Education (GaDOE) and the Georgia Emergency Management and Homeland Security Agency (GEMA/HS), the Ready Georgia Seal of Preparedness recognizes schools that have gone above and beyond in the area of school emergency preparedness. The seal indicates that a school has taken initiative to improve their emergency preparedness through extensive planning and risk mitigation efforts.

This achievement reflects the dedication of our Board of Education, district safety team, educators, administrators, and community partners in prioritizing emergency preparedness. The Ready Georgia Seal of Preparedness recognizes a comprehensive school emergency planning process that utilizes an "all hazards" approach and accounts for a wide range of possible threats and hazards. As schools continually face safety-related challenges, it is incumbent upon school leaders to take the initiative to improve the emergency preparation needs of their buildings and be leaders in the field through appropriate planning and risk mitigation efforts.
The Ready Georgia Seal of Preparedness is valid for 12 months, encouraging consistent collaboration and adjustment to safety plans.
