Pre-K Lottery Selection Procedures
For the 2026-2027 School Year
1. The lottery window will open Monday, February 23, 2026 at 8:00 AM and will close on Monday, March 9, 2026 at 10:00 AM.

2. Pre-K enrollment will be based on a lottery system. The lottery will take place on Tuesday, March 10, 2026. Priority will be given to children of Dawson County Schools' employees, as well as to students with an Individualized Education Program (IEP). A team of central office staff members will randomly draw names for the remaining Pre-K spots. If your child's name is chosen, you will be contacted by 3:00 PM on March 13, 2026 and informed on how to complete the enrollment process.
3. If your child receives a spot, you will be required to complete the online enrollment on the pre-k registration page.
- Those students who are not selected in the lottery drawing or who register after March 9, 2026 will be placed on the waiting list.
Information about our Pre-K Programs:
The Dawson County Schools' Pre-K Program is a GA Pre-K program, funded through the Georgia Lottery and the Dawson County School System. It was created to prepare eligible 4-year-old children for Kindergarten. Students must be 4 on or before September 1 and be Dawson County residents to be eligible for Dawson County Pre-K during the current school year. GA Pre-K Programs operate under Bright From The Start: The Department of Early Care and Learning and follow their rules and regulations. Class size is restricted, so space is limited in our Pre-K programs. Enrollment is based on a lottery system. For more information, visit Bright from the Start.

3 at Robinson Elementary School
